Poem reflection

1. The Purpose of the unit was to create poetry using a variety of different methods from different poets.

2. Absolutely nothing, I complete and utterly despise poetry in pretty much every form.

3. Trying to write within poetic law due to the fact I definitely prefer usual writing laws.

4. No, and nor do I have any desire to become confident as I feel it would just waste time on what I could actually learn that I would find more useful.

Poem

My songs glide around the mountains,
Whispering to all that can hear.
My long, curving mouth bites into the coast,
Bellowing with a eternal growl.

My veins harboring life,
Reaching out onto my rough skin.
My spine reaching to the skies,
Scraping the heavens that tear to my desire.
My hands rise from the ground,
Glistening bright green in the sun.

Pitiful rodents crawl on my back,
Squabbling among themselves for food.
None oppose my rule over land,
As I am the land itself.

Poem inspired by William Carlos Williams (The red wheel barrow)

Black skin
With silver bones

A Soft purr
With a husky roar

Blessed with beauty
And with mighty strength

Cursed with hunger
That can’t be quenched.
